About
This course is for those who have a basic understanding of avalanche science and are comfortable skiing on varied snow conditions. The goal of the course is to help you make safer decisions in layered winter snow. As preparation, we recommend reviewing the avalanche school on Varsom and the book Skikompis by Christer Lundberg Nes (2022).
The course is held outdoors with a practical approach to avalanche science. We adapt the course to the weather, snow conditions, and participants' needs, making the program flexible. Nevertheless, all main points will be covered over the three course days. The course includes short theoretical sessions combined with practical exercises. To get the most out of the course, it is important that participants are active and ask questions throughout.
